Deerfoot Casino Poker Room in Calgary
The Room Itself
Our poker room is inside Deerfoot Inn & Casino at 1000, 11500 35 Street SE, Calgary, Alberta T2Z 3W4. It is a dedicated non-smoking area that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the week. That constant schedule matters more than it sounds, because a lot of live poker rooms in Alberta shut down overnight or on some days. We do not.
Depending on the time of year and traffic, we usually keep 8 to 10 tables in action. The lineup stays focused on what people actually come for: No Limit Hold’em cash games and Pot Limit Omaha Hi. We stick to those two formats so the list does not get cluttered with games almost nobody plays. On top of that, we run daily No Limit Hold’em tournaments at approximately 10:20 AM and 6:30 PM. So if you prefer structured events instead of open-ended cash sessions, you have two regular starting points every day.
We keep tableside service going the whole time. Drinks, food, comps - all of that can come right to your seat. In that way the room feels closer to a Vegas setup, and during a long session it really add up in terms of comfort.

There is one practical point that is worth repeating. If you are driving in mainly to play a specific game or at a certain time, it is smart to call ahead. That simple step can save a wasted trip on a slow weekday or when a list is full, because seat counts and game mix move around during the day.
Booking a Cash Game Seat
All cash game reservations go through our poker room line. Nothing complicated there, you talk straight to the staff on the floor and they can walk you through what is running in real time before you decide to come.
- Call (403) 723-4039 to ask about current tables, waitlists and which games are active.
- Let staff know if you want Hold’em or Omaha Hi and confirm the blinds at that moment.
- Request a reservation time or add your name to the waitlist if the time you want is already full.
- Bring a valid government-issued photo ID with you. Under Alberta rules, the minimum age for poker and casino play is 18.
- Check in at the poker room desk when you arrive so staff can confirm your booking or waitlist position.
- Pick up chips either right at the table if available, or at the cage before you sit down.
- Once you take your seat, you can flag a server at any point - tableside service starts as soon as you are in the game.
For group sessions, team-building nights or corporate poker events, our events department manages those separately. You can reach them at (403) 723-4027 or by email at [email protected]. Private or semi-private poker nights do need notice in advance, and our room layout allows us to handle organized groups in a structured way.
Daily Tournaments - How Registration Works
We run both the morning and evening tournaments as open events. Any eligible player who gets registered before the cut-off can join. The tournament structure for the early and late event is the same, but buy-in amounts can shift, so it is worth taking a minute to confirm by phone before you get on the road.
To get into a daily tournament, the flow usually looks like this:
- Call (403) 723-4039 to confirm that the tournament is scheduled for that day and to get the current buy-in.
- Plan to show up 20 to 30 minutes before the listed start time, either 10:20 AM or 6:30 PM.
- Present your government-issued photo ID at the tournament or poker desk so we can verify that you are 18 or older.
- Pay your buy-in in Canadian dollars at registration. Payment must be completed before a seat is assigned.
- Our staff will give you a seat card and your starting chip stack once you are fully registered.
- Take your seat before the first hand if you can. Late registration might be allowed, depending on the posted structure for that event, but you should ask at the desk when you sign up.
- Play continues until a winner is decided or until the prize pool is distributed based on the payout schedule posted for that tournament.
- Any prize money is paid out in Canadian dollars at the cage when the event is finished and results are confirmed.
If you bust early and still want to play, it is very common to move into a cash game. Just speak with a staff member at the desk or on the floor and they will point you to any open seats in the cash tables running at the same time as the tournament.
Major Series and Scheduled Events
Besides our day-to-day program, we also schedule multi-day poker festival series that draw players from Calgary, across Alberta and from outside the province. These series are seasonal. Buy-ins cover several levels so it is not a case of only high-stakes regulars being able to join.
The Deerfoot Spring Super Stack is set for April 7 to 19, 2026, with 17 separate events and buy-ins starting at C$180 and going up to C$1,500. After that comes the Deerfoot Summer Super Stack in August, planned for August 5 to 16, 2026, with a similar types of events and prize pool design. Over time both of these series have settled in as regular stops on the Alberta poker calendar.
For 2026, one of the bigger items on the schedule is the confirmed World Series of Poker Circuit stop at our property. The WSOP Circuit Calgary event is slated for September 30 to October 12, 2026, and for those two weeks Deerfoot Inn & Casino sits on the international poker map. Event schedules and buy-in details for the Circuit stop are still being finalized and may adjust, so we keep those updated as they are confirmed.
| Series | Dates (2026) | Events | Buy-In Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deerfoot Spring Super Stack | April 7-19 | 17 events | C$180 - C$1,500 |
| Deerfoot Summer Super Stack | August 5-16 | Multiple events | C$180 - C$1,500 |
| WSOP Circuit Calgary | September 30 - October 12 | TBC | TBC |

The main casino floor operates from 9:30 AM to 3:00 AM daily, with hours extended to 4:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
